Jörn Wöbke was born in 1968 in Neumünster. He studied law from 1989 to 1994 at the universities of Passau and Freiburg i.Br., and in 1995/96 at the University of Chicago Law School. In 2000, he earned his doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) at the University of Freiburg i.Br. He completed his legal clerkship from 1996 to 1999 in Hamburg, where he also worked as a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. Since 1999, Jörn Wöbke has been a lawyer in Hamburg, working at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, as a partner at Rittstieg Rechtsanwälte, Gleiss Lutz, and YPOG, and, since the founding of the firm in 2024, at valbeek.
