Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH acquires SubCtech GmbH - Strategic partnership strengthens market position in marine technology

valbeek advised Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH, part of the Possehl Group, both based in Lübeck, on the acquisition of SubCtech GmbH from its sole shareholder, Mr. Stefan Marx. This strategic move brings together two leading companies in the field of maritime technology with the aim of leveraging joint sales channels and technologies to strengthen their market position.

SubCtech is an internationally recognized provider of high-tech systems for maritime applications, particularly in the areas of underwater energy supply and ocean monitoring. Gabler Maschinenbau has long been a leading provider of maritime technology in the field of underwater and special machinery. Combining SubCtech's technological and market expertise with Gabler's decades of experience and global market presence opens up new growth opportunities for both companies.

As part of the acquisition, SubCtech will also become a member of the Gabler Group (www.gabler-ocean.com) – a dedicated group of companies including Develogic GmbH and north.io GmbH, which specialises in advanced marine technology. Stefan Marx will continue to actively shape SubCtech's success within the Gabler Group as managing director.

The transaction was completed in August 2025.
